Extreme Poverty and Lack of Resources

Our city is suffering a great situation of poverty. Many people have had to take the streets and avenues of our city, as their new home, begging for the streets without hope.

In our communities, multiple families find themselves in situations of wide poverty. Our duty is to attend these families who are without resources.

If you are going through a situation like this, contact us, we will help you so you can get out of this situation.

Domestic Violence

On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. For one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men.

1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men experience severe intimate partner physical violence, intimate partner contact sexual violence, and/or intimate partner stalking with impacts such as injury, fearfulness, post-traumatic stress disorder, use of victim services, contraction of sexually transmitted diseases.

1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced some form of physical violence by an intimate partner. This includes a range of behaviors (e.g. slapping, shoving, pushing) and in some cases might not be considered "domestic violence."

1 in 10 women have been raped by an intimate partner. Data is unavailable on male victims. 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men have been victims of severe physical violence (e.g. beating, burning, strangling) by an intimate partner in their lifetime.

And the list of statistics continues. We need to stop domestic violence. A LIGHT IN MY CITY is here to help you get out of this complicated situation in your life. Raise your voice, ask for help, do not allow another day of violence. Contact us for more information

Children and Animal Abuse Prevention

1 in 15 children are exposed to intimate partner violence each year, and 90% of these children are eyewitnesses to this violence

We need to prevent cruelty in children’s and animals. Studies have shown that cruelty to animals is a sign that other abuse is taking place in the home. Those same studies show that children who witness animal abuse are at a greater risk of becoming animal abusers themselves. Contacts us to receive help
